Bildungswerk der Bayerischen Wirtschaft (bbw) gGmbH
The Bildungswerk der Bayerischen Wirtschaft (bbw) was founded in 1969 by the Bavarian Employers’ Associations and is active in accordance with its statutes in the socio-political mandate. The non-profit organization is today one of the largest educational companies in Germany. Under the roof of the bbw e. V. 14 education, integration and consulting organizations with around 10,500 employees are active – mainly in Bavaria, but also nationwide and internationally in 25 countries on four continents. The common goal: to help people acquire, maintain, improve or regain employability. The bbw Group offers early childhood care, vocational training and further education for public clients and companies as well as studies at the University of Applied Sciences in Bavaria. The portfolio also includes other personnel services such as temporary employment, recruitment and a transfer company.
In the Skills Alliance for Ukraine, the bbw Group is represented with one project:
• The “VET Partnership between bbw gGmbH & Ukrainian VET Centres” offers a vocational education partnership in Ukraine that enhances employment opportunities through practice-oriented training & inclusion-focused teacher development”
• The Vocational Education Partnership comprises 7 vocational training institutions located in the western Ukrainian regions of Lviv, Volyn, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Ternopil. The project’s goal is to establish practice-oriented, dual vocational training as a permanent part of the educational landscape. Existing training formats are being further developed with a competence- and action-based approach and tailored to meet the qualification needs of local businesses. Despite the challenges posed by the ongoing Russian war of aggression, the project responds flexibly to changes and implements targeted measures to ensure the quality of training. Staff from the participating vocational schools and their 20 partner companies are sensitized to a wide range of topics, including skills assessment, digitalization, AdA-light, branding, marketing, leadership, social development of young people, labour market integration, career counselling, alumni work, and more. In addition, numerous technical and didactic training measures are offered for vocational and in-company training masters. The project is currently being expanded to include an additional component: inclusion. Two vocational schools in the Lviv region have special education classes for trainees with special educational needs. As part of the project, existing structures are being specifically strengthened: teachers, vocational and in-company training masters are receiving further training on inclusive teaching methods, differentiated instructional strategies, and individualized support in order to enhance their inclusive competencies and better respond to the needs of all learners.
