Czech Development Agency

Czech Development Agency (CZDA) is a state organization under the authority of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and an implementing body of the development cooperation of the Czech Republic.

The main aims of CZDA include reducing poverty, improving quality of life and supporting sustainable development. The Agency was established on January 1, 2008. Its founding entity is the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. The Agency reports to the Ministry. Since July 1, 2010 the Agency was formally re-established by the Act on Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Assistance.

The Agency actively cooperates with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Embassies of the Czech Republic, representatives of partner countries and other donors. CZDA is an affiliated member of the Council on Development Cooperation. As a modern donor CZDA connects three groups of actors: state sector and local authorities, non-profit sector with universities and private sector.

In the Skills Alliance for Ukraine, CZDA is represented with one project:

• The CZDA support focuses on improving employment assistance delivery to cover the needs of the most vulnerable groups (ex-combatants, women, people with special needs) through capacitating state employment services with a strong focus on development of strong case management (pathways to requalification).

• Another aspect of the project is support of structural review/reform of the current employment assistance system and labour market, including policy/legislation as the project should leverage member state experience with pre-accession alignment of domestic and EU policies.
