Federal Ministry for Labour and Social Affairs
The core functions of the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (BMAS) are to create a strong framework for more jobs, promote social inclusion, and maintain stable social security systems in Germany.
In the Skills Alliance for Ukraine, BMAS is represented with two projects:
BMAS is involved in an Institutional Partnership between the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine (MoE), the German Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (BMAS) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE). The objective of the partnership is to cushion effects of Russia’s full-scale invasion on Ukraine’s economy and labour market through sharing expertise for Ukraine’s reform process on their path to EU membership.
BMAS works together with the Ukrainian Ministry of Social Policy in a second institutional partnership. The objective is to support the Ukrainian reform processes of social security systems with a focus on old-age pension and people with disabilities and Ukraine’s path to EU membership.
In both project, the expert exchanges between German and Ukrainian officials are virtual or embedded in study trips.
