Finn Church Aid

Finn Church Aid (FCA) is Finland’s largest international aid and development organisation and a member of the global ACT Alliance. Established in 1947 by the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland, FCA operates as a faith- and rights-based organisation committed to promoting human dignity and equality for all people, regardless of religion, gender, nationality, or political belief.

FCA acts for human dignity in fragile and conflict-affected contexts through humanitarian assistance, long-term development cooperation, and advocacy. Its work focuses on three strategic pillars: Right to Quality Education, Right to Livelihood, and Right to Peace. FCA is certified under the Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS) and partners with local communities, international organisations, and governments to deliver sustainable and inclusive impacts.

In Ukraine, Finn Church Aid has been working since 2022, providing humanitarian assistance and supporting the country’s recovery through education and livelihood programmes. FCA leads the Education in Emergencies response, rehabilitating schools, training teachers, and offering psychosocial support to learners and educators affected by the war. The organisation also strengthens Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and supports the establishment of Digital Learning Centers, helping young people and displaced communities gain skills for employment and resilience.

FCA’s work in Ukraine embodies its core values of unconditional love, unyielding hope, courage, and respect, contributing to a just and resilient society where everyone has the opportunity to learn, work, and live in dignity.
