Foundation for Institutional Development

The NGO “Foundation for Institutional Development” began its activities in May 2022 and brought together experts, scholars, and practitioners in the field of anti-corruption, integrity, and institutional development to provide institutional support to Ukrainian organizations during the armed conflict and prepare them for post-war reconstruction.

Our mission is to strengthen the resilience of institutions and promote the development of integrity.

The organization’s strategic areas of activity in the field of professional development:

  • harmonization of vocational training systems through the formation of modern professional standards in accordance with the European Qualifications Framework;
  • development of institutions through educational programs in the field of building anti-corruption compliance, integrity, and governance;
  • implementation of retraining programs in critical sectors, in particular in the transport sector;
  • supporting gender equality and expanding women’s economic opportunities through access to new professions and leadership development.

One of the key areas of activity is expanding professional potential in the transport sector. As part of the flagship initiative She Drives, comprehensive work is being carried out to expand women’s employment opportunities and increase their professional competitiveness. A logical continuation of this direction is the development of women’s leadership competencies within the framework of the “Manage Change” program. In April 2026, the first batch of 25 women leaders was prepared, who received practical competencies in the field of strategic management, change management, and development of sectoral initiatives in the transport sector.

The organization’s approach combines training, career guidance, mentoring support, and assistance with the employment of participants. As of January 2026, 8 areas of retraining have been implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Community and Territories Development of Ukraine, and over 300 graduates have been trained.

An important part of this approach is systematic work with employers aimed at improving management efficiency, implementing compliance systems, and adapting the work environment to consider equal rights and opportunities for men and women through the implementation of corporate policies and proprietary training programs. We already have a network of more than 35 employer partners who provide opportunities for further employment for program participants.
