Education Exchanges Support Foundation of Lithuania
The Education Exchange Support Foundation is the Lithuanian National Agency, successfully operating since 2007, which is in charge of administering the Erasmus+ programme and other initiatives funded by the European Commission (EC) and the Government of the Republic of Lithuania in the field of education and training. The Foundation administers more than 50 different activities that are equally relevant to students and seniors, kindergartens or schools, and higher education or other education-related institutions. The opportunities offered by the Foundation are available to various associations, business or non-governmental organisations and other structures seeking to improve their business practice or enhance their employees’ qualifications. In addition to the EU’s major Erasmus+ programme, the Foundation manages other education programmes or initiatives. One such programme is Nordplus, funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers. Since 2010, the Foundation has also been implementing two projects funded by the European Social Fund – Study in LT and TAPK.
In the Skills Alliance for Ukraine, the Lithuanian Education Exchange Support Foundation is represented with one project:
• The Lithuanian State Scholarship programme offers various scholarships for Ukrainian citizens in higher education. Scholarships are available for these activities: Lithuanian language and culture courses, short-term (1-2 semester) studies in all study fields including Lithuanian studies and full-time Master’s degree studies in Lithuanian higher education institutions in all fields (priority is given to ICT, Life Sciences, Engineering).
• In 2024, the scholarship for full-time Master’s degree studies was awarded to at least 20 Ukrainian students, in other cases there is no exact quota for Ukrainians. Scholarships are awarded for the whole duration of courses/studies. Calls for applications are published at: https://studyin.lt/. In addition, Ukrainian lecturers can receive a grant for 5-15 days of teaching visits in Lithuanian higher education institutions. Lithuanian higher education institutions submit applications for this grant, therefore lecturers who are interested in teaching visits should contact higher education institutions.
