Ministry of Economy of Ukraine
The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine is a central executive body responsible for formulating and implementing national economic policy. Its core functions include developing strategies for economic growth, ensuring macroeconomic stability, promoting entrepreneurship, managing public procurement, and fostering international trade and investment. The Ministry also plays a key role in Ukraine’s integration into the global economy, particularly through cooperation with international organisations. One of the primary tasks since Russia’s full-scale invasion is to maintain growth and achieve economic self-sufficiency. Key in this regard is addressing the country’s labour needs.
At the Ukraine Recovey Conference in 2024, the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine launched the Skills Alliance for Ukraine, together with the BMZ. Through the Skills Alliance, the Ministry for Economy of Ukraine seeks to help meet Ukraine’s labour needs and accelerate the country’s recovery, improve employment prospects for Ukrainian youth, internally displaced people and veterans, and create conditions for the return of Ukrainians from abroad.
