On July 10, 2025, at #URC2025 in Rome, the Skills Alliance for Ukraine announced a major milestone: more than 275,000 Ukrainians, including 134,000 women, have received high-quality vocational training and qualification measures. The Alliance members have committed to upskilling 390,000 workers by 2027 to fill critical skilled workforce gaps caused by the war.

Since its launch at URC2024 in Berlin by Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine (MoE), the Alliance has grown from 50 to 79 members — bringing together donors, NGOs, the private sector, and governments — and has mobilized over EUR 900 million to date.

During the Skills Alliance Lab, new commitments from Alliance members were announced:

  • EUR 3 million from Denmark for Skills4Recovery
  • EUR 17 million from the Netherlands for training workforce in the water sector training
  • EUR 193,000 from FMO (Netherlands), Swedfund (Sweden) and Scatec (Norway) for women’s employment in solar parks

The Lab also outlined shared priorities for the coming years and spotlighted inspiring examples of best practices among members.

In addition, the official Skills Alliance website, skills-alliance-for-ukraine.org, was launched to foster greater collaboration among members and to provide a comprehensive overview of the training programs and initiatives supporting Ukraine’s resilient and inclusive economic recovery.

The Skills Alliance for Ukraine continues to create new opportunities for strengthening the skilled workforce as Ukraine advances on its journey toward EU integration.
