I enjoy opening new horizons and mastering unusual professions
Tetiana Yurkevych came across a call for applications on social media about the She Drives project and quickly filled out the form and submitted it. She had been contemplating a change in her life for a long time but always felt she needed a “push” to take that step.
After enrolling in the course, Tetiana completed both the theoretical and practical training at the Training and Course Complex and passed the theoretical exam on her first attempt. Tetiana says she is very grateful to her teacher, instructors, and supervisors who supported her at every stage.
During the exam, the instructor closely monitored Tetiana’s actions and asked her to explain her decision-making process. For instance, there was a moment when she had to allow other cars to pass while entering a parking lot; however, the driver in front signaled for her to proceed. Thanks to her well-developed bus driving skills, Tetiana was able to explain her decisions in detail and successfully passed the exam.
Tetiana Yurkevych currently works as a logistician at Epicentr K and volunteers at the Spilno children’s center at one of Kyiv’s passenger stations. She has completed all stages of the bus driver training, passed all exams, obtained a category “D” driver’s license, and is now seeking employment in her new profession.
She is considering a job with the Kyivpastrans municipal enterprise but understands that she will need to complete an internship to gain the necessary experience before working on the routes. She is ready for this challenge.
There are still many stereotypes, but women have already mastered many professions that were once considered male-dominated. Tetiana has a strong character, and now, the word “impossible” no longer exists for her.
